Beryllium sputtering yields by hydrogen isotopes bombardment

چکیده
Using computer simulation, the sputtering coefficients of a beryllium target upon bombardment with hydrogen isotopes in particle energy range 8 eV-100 keV and dependences on angle incidence beam are obtained. Obtained results allow to estimate ITER first wall entry impurities into hot plasma zone. Formulas proposed for estimating threshold describing coefficient dependence beam. Keywords: Sputtering yield, interatomic potential, isotopes, beryllium.

Sputtering Yields for D on Beryllium
The phenomenon of ion induced sputtering is integral to many applications. In magnetically confined fusion, this sputtering is important for both the lifetime of the plasma facing components and the contamination of the plasma. A method has been developed to obtain both the angular distribution and the total sputtering yield. The total yield is determined by collecting the sputtered material on...
متن کاملOn Universality in Sputtering Yields Due to Cluster Bombardment.
Molecular dynamics simulations, in which atomic and molecular solids are bombarded by Arn (n = 60-2953) clusters, are used to explain the physics that underlie the "universal relation" of the sputtering yield Y per cluster atom versus incident energy E per cluster atom (Y/n vs E/n). We show that a better representation to unify the results is Y/(E/U0) versus (E/U0)/n, where U0 is the sample coh...
متن کاملMolecular dynamics studies of the chemical sputtering of carbon-based materials by hydrogen bombardment
A central issue in the performance of tokamak fusion devices is the choice of the plasma-facing materials. During the device operation the plasma-facing surfaces are subject to extreme heat and particle loads, as they are impinged on by escaped fusion plasma particles. Although carbon-based materials have excellent thermomechanical properties in view of the high heat flux, their use in the next...
متن کاملSeduction of Finding Universality in Sputtering Yields Due to Cluster Bombardment of Solids.
Universal descriptions are appealing because they simplify the description of different (but similar) physical systems, allow the determination of general properties, and have practical applications. Recently, the concept of universality has been applied to the dependence of the sputtering (ejection) yield due to energetic cluster bombardment versus the energy of the incident cluster. It was ob...
